ABOUT ME
About Me
Hello, I'm Kirsty
A dedicated Counsellor specialising in working with children, young people, and parents.
I understand that navigating emotional struggles can be challenging for young individuals and for the families who are supporting them. The decision to seek counselling can seem daunting, but my goal is to create a warm, supportive environment that eases this process.
I possess extensive experience addressing various concerns, such as trauma, family conflicts, bereavement, anxiety, depression, anger, low self-esteem, self-harm, and suicidal thoughts.
With specialised training in children and adolescents, complemented by a background in mainstream secondary schools, specialist institutions, and community counselling services, along with my experience in working with neurodiverse individuals, I am skilled to provide holistic, personalised support for young people aged 8-18 and their families.
When not in the counselling room, I'm often running around after my own four children and our two dogs. I value family relationships greatly, recognising they can be complex. My journey through adolescence, marked by mental health challenges, is what inspired me to this profession. I'm driven by a passion for supporting young individuals during their uncertain and challenging phases. My pursuit of better ways to support young people’s wellbeing is evident in my ongoing training beyond my core qualifications which are detailed below.
I'm here to support you through difficult times, and I welcome any questions or concerns you or your child may have about counselling. Please don't hesitate to reach out, and I offer a complimentary 30-minute call to discuss your unique circumstances and how we can work together to bring about positive change.
